My third and final pet portrait session in New York was with Tigger and Zoey. I have known Tigger & Zoey’s family for many, many years and I was so excited when they asked me to photograph these two. Tigger is one of the most laid-back cats you will ever meet and oh-boy is he handsome. He briefly tolerated having his photo taken and when he decided he was done, he calmly got up and wandered over to a favorite napping spot. Zoey, on the other hand, is so full of energy and love. She was so happy to have her photo taken — well, either that or she just really liked the treats I had for her. Regardless, Zoey is as cute as can be and she knows it.
First up is Tigger… he’s such an awesome cat!

Next up is Zoey… she’s such a goof!

While I was in New York, I also photographed Eden, a sweet Doberman girl. I have to be honest: I was pretty nervous going in to this session because Eden’s mom told me that she is extremely camera-shy. I was told that Eden runs out of the room whenever a camera comes out. So, I took things nice and slow. I let Eden get to know me a little before I tried anything with her. I rewarded her often with special salmon treats, lots of love, and lots of playtime in the backyard. Eden LOVED chasing her squeaky ball all around the yard. We played a lot of fetch and even a few games of chase. Check out Eden’s shots and tell me what you think… can you tell she’s camera-shy? ;)

I spent the last two weeks in upstate New York enjoying the crisp weather, the fall foliage, and these two characters: Bam-Bam and Lucci. Bam is an Appaloosa and Lucci is a Missouri Fox Trotter. They are best friends and both as goofy and sweet as can be.
First up is Bam-Bam. This guy has been diagnosed with Cushing’s disease and his people are afraid he won’t make it through the winter, so getting some great shots of him was a top priority. Please send some positive thoughts for good health his way!

Next up is Lucci! This guy is a riot! He loves — LOVES — food. If you put a hand anywhere near him, he has to look to see if you have a treat waiting for him. Lucci was recently bitten by a deer tick and is being treated for anaplasmosis, so you may notice that he’s a little swollen. The poor guy has to take 80 pills a day for 30 days! Luckily, he thinks anything is a treat and gobbles them right down.
