Mia’s Sun-Drenched Rescue Dog Portrait Session
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening for Mia’s portrait session! It had been cloudy for days before our session and I was getting pretty nervous but I think the universe knew we needed the sun to create some incredibly stunning portraits for Mia and her family. As the afternoon went on and our session time approached, the sun finally broke through the clouds and sparkled down on us for two amazing hours. But don’t make any mistake — Mia’s sparkle comes from within! She was beaming the entire shoot since she was surrounded by the three people who love her most — her mom, dad, and grandma!
Mia was adopted in 2012, four years since her mom lost her childhood dog to Lymphoma. Thanks to Mia’s profile on Petfinder, her mom saw her and went to meet her at the shelter. It has been love ever since.
I mean, really, how could anyone resist that head tilt? And those adorable ears?
Mia and her mom developed a very close bond over the years. “The happiness and the loves she gives me everyday means the world to me,” Mia’s mom wrote to me. “No matter where I go, she always wants to be next to me (unless she is trying to chase down a squirrel).” Well, yeah, squirrels are very important to chase.
I had such a fun time getting to know Mia and her family during our session experience! I hope they loved it as much as I did!
