Travel Pet Photography | On-Location Portraits with Joshua & Kaylee
JOSHUA! Oh my goodness, I love this boy! He is fur-kid to my dear friends Kaylee & Sam of Boston-based Dog Breath Pet Photography. I have known Kaylee & Sam for a few years now but had never had the chance to meet Joshie. On one of my trips back east, I knew I had to drive out to see them. It was a beautiful day and only about a 2.5-hour drive. Meeting Joshua for the first time was amazing. I had my high-pitched little shriek, “Jooooosssshhhhuuuuaaaaa,” which won his heart and we became instant friends.
Kaylee and I did what we do… talk, talk, talk…. had dinner… talk, talk… oh, we should go take some photos before the sun is completely gone! Well, it was pretty much gone by the time we got to our gorgeous lakeside location but I think we still made it work. Joshie is such a ham and I can’t help but smile every time I see his “adorabull” ears and happy pittie smile.
In case you didn’t know, Joshua won the lottery with Kaylee and Sam. They first met when Kaylee was volunteering at the MSPCA at Nevins Farms. He came into the shelter near death. Someone had abandoned him in their basement, without food or water, and were just waiting for him to die. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan overheard his “owners” talking about throwing his body in the river and did something about it. I’m crying just thinking about it. This beautiful boy, this beautiful life. You would never know he had such a rough start. He has let it all go and has embraced love and life with his forever family. Honestly, as much as Joshie won the lottery with his family, they have won the lottery with him.
