Emmee the Great Dane | Pet Portrait Session at UC San Diego
Let me introduce you to Emmee the Great Dane. Actually, her full name is The Divine Ms. Em (after Bette Midler). You see, when she was a little itty bitty puppy, her parents thought she could stay in a playpen to keep her out of trouble. But, oh, they were sadly mistaken! Emmee would put her big ‘ol puppy paws on the sides and sing until her parents let her out.
Emme’s mom is an architect and loves the Geisel library at UC San Diego. But, really, who doesn’t? We decided that it would be a beautiful spot for our session, especially with how statuesque Emmee is.
She’s also an incredibly goofy little beast so we had to make sure to get some exaggerated photos that would get some laughs!
We couldn’t finish our session without a photo of Emmee’s sparkly paws… she gets them done by our good friend, Tess, who owns Peticures by Tess in North Park. It has become a tradition of my many clients who have come to me through Tess, to gift her with a special close-up paws photo for the shop. It’s really, really awesome to see them displayed when we go in for Roxy’s nail appointments.
On our way back to the parking lot, the sky turned the most incredible shade of blue and I just couldn’t resist this shot!

Awww…. Being the proud Momma, all I can add is that Terran captured my girl perfectly and it was a great (Dane) time too!
